If you have an account, and would like to get an email address at username@progeny.isu.edu, it's there for you. Here, you have basically unlimited disk space (there are 8.5 gb quotas initially, but on request and for good reason I will increase these). Also, youraddress@progeny.isu.edu may look better than youraddress@gmail.com or whatever. Your email is probably safer on progeny. On the downside, it may also be harder to search through, and you may have to set it up to get webmail.

You have unlimited flexibility with mail on progeny. This will go through the very basics.

Easy Setup

type pine into a terminal.

$ pine

that's it. Follow the directions. An alternative client is mutt. To use this, type

$ mutt

Both of these are command line clients. You can also use a graphical client like Thunderbird or Evolution.
