---Several smaller machines for various other purposes, including many different architectures
-Saved $10,000 per year by migrating from a proprietary Novell authentication/nas solution to an
openldap samba solution. Performance also increased.

Job Description: -Founded and admi nistered webstersprodigy.net, a company that refurbished computers, and sold these
Linux Desktops in an online environment. This included negotiating with vendors, advertising
online and dealing with sales in addition to customer support, web programming, and system
administration.
-Obtained a research grant for characterizing and benchmarking MEMS-based storage solutions for
data mining applications. This resulted in the publication of a paper cited below.
-Project leader and lead developer for a complete online introductory computer science class at
ISU, which features C++ as the programming language.
-Lab instructor for the two introductory computer science classes at ISU.
-Math tutor for the Center for Teaching and Learning for classes ranging from Algebra through
Differential Equations.
