Job Description: ITD sponsors a formal Engineer-In-Training (EIT)
Program for Civil Engineering graduates. The goal of the program is to
provide a pool of engineers capable of meeting the technical and
management needs of ITD. This program rotates the EITs through
assignment in all of the major engineering functions of the
department.
Assignments include: construction, materials, design, traffic,
materials, maintenance; bridge & roadway design, traffic,
transportation planning & programming, and construction
administration.
After two years of appropriate experience the EITs title and salary
will change to Engineer Associate with the minimum salary of $22.47
per hour.

The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) has current openings for
Engineer-In-Training. This is the entry-level position for all
professional engineering related work. Incumbents work under the
supervision of a Professional Engineer(s) and receive on-the-job,
structured training and experience for approximately four years, to
fulfill the requirements for licensure as a Professional Engineer.
