Bennion, John Ph.D. - Associate Professor, Reactor Supervisor

Bennion

Dr. Bennion received his Ph.D. from University of Utah in 1996. His areas of interest include radiation dosimetry and metrology, nuclear waste management, radiation transport and shielding, nuclear reactor physics, neutron activation analysis, research reactor operations.

Chen, Jianwei Ph.D. - Assistant Professor

Chen

Dr. Chen received his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 2004. In addition to teaching, Dr. Chen is working with the Idaho National Laboratory on the Next Generation Nuclear Reactor, non-destructive testing of spent nuclear fuel, and Monte Carlo simulation in radiation.

Dunzik-Gougar, Mary Lou Ph.D. - Assistant Professor

Dr. Dunzik-Gougar received her Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University in 2003. Her research interests include the nuclear fuel cycle, systems modeling, spent fuel processing, and waste form development.

Gansauge, Todd M.S. - Assistant Lecturer

Gansauge

Mr. Gansuage graduated from University of Utah in 1990 with a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. His research interests include Nuclear Engineering, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Surveying and Geographical Position Systems. He is a licensed Professional Engineer.

Hartmann, Thomas Ph.D - Associate Research Professor

Hartman

Dr. Harmann received his Ph.D. from the University of Heidelberg in Mineralogy in 1988. He came to ISU from Las Vegas where he was directing the Structure and Solid Phase Analysis group within the University of Nevada-Las Vegas Science and Technology Program. His specialty is materials research, especially solid phase analysis and X-ray diffraction.

Imel, George Ph.D. - Professor, Chair

Imel

Dr. Imel received his Ph. D. from the Pennsylvania State University in Nuclear Engineering in 1977. His research interests include sodium fast reactor development, uncertainty propagation in reactor experiments, and development of new techniques in support of advanced nuclear systems.

Kunze, Jay Ph.D. - Professor

Kunze

Dr. Kunze received his Ph. D. in Nuclear Physicis from Carnegie Mellon University-Pittsburg in 1959. His research interests include underground siting of nuclear power plant parks, the health effects of low level radiation, laser isotope enrichment of medical and industrial isotopes, and reactor designs with high burn up capability and long time between refueling.

Lineberry, Michael Ph.D. - Director of the INSE, Research Professor

Lineberry

Dr. Lineberry received his Ph.D. in Engineering Science and Physics from the California Institute of Technology in 1972. His research interests include the nuclear fuel cycle and sodium-cooled fast reactor physics and design.

Paviet-Hartmann, Patricia Ph.D. - Associate Research Professor

Paviet-Hartman

Dr. Paviet-Hartmann received her Ph.D. from the University of Paris-IX in Radiochemistry in 1992. In addition to teaching duties she is working closely with scientists from the Idaho National Laboratory in separation technology, extraction of radionuclides, and laser spectroscopic investigation of actinides.
