Mechanical Engineering
The Mechanical Engineering program at ISU provides students with a well rounded engineering education. Graduates are well prepared for exciting careers in various industries, such as aerospace, energy systems, defense, design, R&D, as well as entry into graduate programs. The relatively small college within a large university provides all the benefits of both, small and large universities, where students have easy access to the professor for help and mentoring, well developed infrastructure, laboratories, sporting and cultural events. In addition, ISU is rated as one of the safest campuses in the nation, surrounded by the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and in close vicinity to National parks such as Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Pocatello and its surroundings offer ample opportunities for outdoor activities for all seasons.
