Ebrahimpour, Arya Ph.D., P.E. - Professor

Dr. Ebrahimpour received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (structures) from the University of Idaho in 1987. His research interests include experimental and analytical studies in structural vibrations, applications of advanced materials in structural engineering, and structural seismic risk assessment.

Dr. Glenn received her Ph.D. in Geo-Engineering in 2000 from University of Nevada, Reno. Her research interests include interdisciplinary satellite and airborne remote sensing, engineering geology (slope stability and erosion) and soil mechanics.

Leung, Solomon Ph.D., P.E. - Professor, ENVE Coordinator

Dr. Leung received his Ph.D. in Civil & Environmental Engineering in 1989 from the University of Iowa. His research interests include physicochemical treatment processes, environmental systems modeling, environmental risk assessment, biotechnology, and nanotechnology.

Mahar, James Ph.D., LPG, PG, PHG - Senior Lecturer

Dr. Mahar has had 30 years of experience as a geotechnical consultant on projects such as tunnels; bridge foundations; building foundations and damage; highways; air fields; levees; open cut excavations; soil and rock slopes; shafts; dredging; rock and soil excavations; lock and dam structures; and dams.

Dr. Sadid received his Ph.D. in 1988 from Washington State University. His research interests include vibrations: base isolation systems, finite element modeling, and monolithic concrete dome structures.

Dr. Savage received his Ph.D. from Utah State University in 2002. His research interests include application of computational fluid dynamics (RANS) to hydraulic structures, physical modeling of hydraulic structures, flood control structures, fish passage and habitat, dams and spillways, and wave energy.

Zoghi, Manoochehr PhD., P.E. - Professor and Chair

Dr. Zoghi received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from University of Cincinnati. His research interests include geotechnical earthquake engineering, soil stabilization, soil-structure interaction, constitutive soil modeling, slope stability, pavement, instrumentation and data acquisition, and application of FRP composites.

Dr. Chen received his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 2004. In addition to teaching, Dr. Chen is working with the Idaho National Laboratory on the Next Generation Nuclear Reactor, non-destructive testing of spent nuclear fuel, and Monte Carlo simulation in radiation.

Hartmann, Thomas Ph.D - Associate Research Professor

Dr. Harmann received his Ph.D. from the University of Heidelberg in Mineralogy in 1988. He came to ISU from Las Vegas where he was directing the Structure and Solid Phase Analysis group within the University of Nevada-Las Vegas Science and Technology Program. His specialty is materials research, especially solid phase analysis and X-ray diffraction.

Kunze

Dr. Kunze received his Ph. D. in Nuclear Physicis from Carnegie Mellon University-Pittsburg in 1959. His research interests include underground siting of nuclear power plant parks, the health effects of low level radiation, laser isotope enrichment of medical and industrial isotopes, and reactor designs with high burn up capability and long time between refueling.

Dr. Paviet-Hartmann received her Ph.D. from the University of Paris-IX in Radiochemistry in 1992. In addition to teaching duties she is working closely with scientists from the Idaho National Laboratory in separation technology, extraction of radionuclides, and laser spectroscopic investigation of actinides.
