Computer Science - Student Organizations
The ISU Computer Science Program supports several student organizations in terms of faculty support, equipment, student participation, etc.
Association for Computing Machinery
The Idaho State University chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery is directed by the Computer Science department, and is loosely associated with ISLUG. For more information, contact the advisor, tappdan@isu.edu or visit the National ACM web page at http://acm.org.
G2 Math/CS Club
Although the G2 Math/CS Club is not directly affiliated with the Computer Science Department (it is more associated with the Math Department), this is nonetheless a good fun club. Visit their web page at http://www.isu.edu/mathcs/.
Idaho State Linux Users Group
This group is a group of local area Linux users. They tend to meet regularly (typically every other Wednesday) to solve Linux related problems, throw LAN parties, support open source software in the community, learn, and have fun. You can find them on the IRC on Freenode.net channel #ISLUG, or you can sign up for the mailing list. For more information, visit their website at http://islug.org.
wargamez.org
This new group of security experts meets annually to play ethical hacking games, learning from and teaching each other. Experts come from all over the Eastern Idaho area and beyond, and it is expected for this to grow quite large. For more information visit the web page at http://wargamez.org/. Wargames is not directly affiliated with Idaho State University.
